The chirping of birds was always an interesting charm that failed to capture the young toad sage's heart, though what was more prominent was the trickling water that found itself blocked by the limbs and debris that had piled up in the koi pond. While Noriko was without a team for the time being she found herself being paired with her sister who despite having a team found herself slow to return to normality. This mission was a form of rehabilitation for both of them it seemed. One of them who had never had the time to learn the meaning of social interaction and the other who had lost everything as fast as the turning tides... not to mention the inner problems that Noriko couldn't possibly understand... or well it was a bride that would need to be crossed eventually.
They had both been selected for this particular part of the cleaning as Nozomi had extensive knowledge in caring for koi fish, and how to get their habitat exactly how it needed to be for the school to return to how it needed to be. Wood that had previously made up homes found itself lodged deep into the water, limbs that had careened into the murky depths did little to help the situation, and probably worst of all there was a severe lack of water in the pond that would definitely need to be refilled... that was to say that Noriko didn't seem to be exactly helping, her legs crossed as she sat on a nearby stone meditating. The natural energy in the air was disturbed from the vile force that had seemingly steemed through, but there was applenty for her to reinforce her own chakra into Senjutsu Chakra. Her idea was that if she could enhance her water jutsus she could possibly use her water affinity to quickly fill the water with her own natural energy, in turn filling the pond to a healthy amount... though to an onlooker it would definitely seem like she was slacking on the job.
Debris filled the koi pond- if you could even call it a pond anymore. The water wasn't deep enough...of course not. There was no way this was even enough space for so many koi fish...not that the pond SHOULD be holding a similar amount to the gigantic body of water they had back home. The fish keeper looked as though she wanted to cry. What a terrible situation for the koi to find themselves in! But where were the Koi? Nozomi rubbed her arm anxiously, looking between the debris and then back over to her sister who sat cross legged on a rock. She was many things, strong was not one of them. Quietly, she rolled up her sleeves and slipped back into the pond, picking up small branches of debris and tossing them aside.
They were told to clean the fish pond, nothing else really mattered, right?
With a deep breath Noriko would exhale a large breath as she took in natural energy and mixed it with her own natural chakra pool. Soon she would have that immense aura that seemed to radiate off of her when she built up Senjutsu Chakra, her face would seem intensely serene as she walked into the water alongside Nozomi not having the same fears about her outfit as she didn't even bother to roll up her sleeves. Reaching towards the murky depths she would pick up some of the heavier debris with her Frog Kata style aura, using the power of natural energy to lift up the heavier stuff so her sister could spend more attention to giving her directions on what needed doing. After all while Noriko knew much about how to use nature, she knew little of how to take care of it outside of the basics... especially something that needed as much care as koi fish did. Most of her toads were self-sufficient... sentient would be a better word, most of them were well older than her so she wasn't used to having to take care of real animals. She would throw several heavy stumps and debris out of the water onto the ground outside of the water. But as they removed stuff from the water it would become clear that there was way less water in the pond than it seemed, the debris giving it the illusion of size.
Nozomi narrowed her eyes at the water. This? This didn't do even slightly.
The fish keeper paced back and forth as she waded through the water. How many fish did they even have in this pond? Surely more than what this needed to hold. Annoyance was the only word that she could use to describe the tight feeling in her chance. She looked at Noriko then back to the water then back over at Noriko. "30 feet...it needs 30 feet of water." The purple haired girl whistled, calling Tatsuo from his bucket into the pond to help with the preparations. "Fish...how many fish does the school have?" Hopefully no more than 5 with the area of this pond...or was it the debris that shrunk the area of the pond?
Nozomi didn't know and frankly didn't seem to care. Tatsuo rubbed up against Noriko's leg, as though trying to help move whatever needed to get done.
In a flash most of the debris would've been cleaned out of the pool, in part to Nozomi not wasting time meditating and Noriko going out of her way to meditate. The Frog Kata style making short work of all the trash that had ended up littering the pond. Her eyes would travel down to the fishy friend who had brushed against her leg, she would kneel patting his head before looking over the pond one last time. What they needed now was to expand the size of the pool, and all the while fill it with fresh and clean water. Or at least that's what Noriko was able to gather from Nozomi's mutterings, "I can make the pool bigger and supply it with clean water!! Tatsuo can probably help me out too." She would begin using her powerful blows to extend the size of the by breaking the looser soil that had been upturned by the attack, easily extending the size of the pool to make room for the fish in need. That said it wouldn't look good as her cheek's began to puff up to an almost toad-like size, she was definitely getting ahead of herself.
As long as it was functional, Nozomi didn't seem to mind.
As the world around the pond became more and more of the mess, the pond itself slowly began to mold into Nozomi's vision of what a koi pond should be for the fish! It was far more than the basic necessities that made a fish pond, but even those that you would not think necessary being an absolute requirement. People always did see fish as some accessories or decoration, but not tonight. Tonight the world would become decoration for the fish and the all will be molded to benefit them!!
Truly...the school had no idea what they were getting themselves into when asking the Sato twins to deal with something as mundane as this.
Tatsuo jumped up into the air and splashed down on the clumps of dirt in the water, each time circling back to Nozomi with a small expectant look.
Finally as the pond went from a body of water to a home, the final touches could be done and the fish could be returned to their living environment. With the filling of Noriko's cheeks came the production of Senjutsu Chakra infused water, within her mouth. Her eyes would gaze down into the water, she didn't want to hit Tatsuo with this blast of water so she picked up the Koi friend into her arms and released her blast of water. What followed next could only be described as a waterfalls worth of chakra pouring out of the sage's mouth at what could only be described as pressure washer speeds nearly digging a whole to hard clay as she shot it into the water splashing it everywhere and covering not just herself but her sister in water... yet when all was said in done the pond was filled to the brim with water that was perfectly fit for koi fish. Ready to adapt to the needs of any fish put inside of it.
Noriko's face would deflate back to normal as all the Senjutsu Chakra left her body and she wiped some of the water from her face, turning to her sister, "There!! All done." She'd put Tatsuo back into the water, as her outfit was just absolutely soaked in what could hopefully be labelled clean pond water.
Nozomi brushed herself off, picking up Tatsuo and placing him back into his bucket. She was sure there was probably a better way of transporting him that her sister definitely knew, but she wasn't about to ask anyone about. With a small nod, she began to make her way back over the mess that surrounded them and up into the debris they merely moved out of the pond instead of picking up. Where the fish were? Not her problem to be honest. It was up to the school to acclimate the fish and like hell was she going to use any of her own fish.
Despite the strange display her sister showed today, the cause of helping her fix the fish's pond only solidified in her mind that she was someone trustworthy and honored by the respect the fish keeper carried.
Hopefully the Koi fish will like the pond as well.
Luckily it was clear that Noriko lacked any forethought about any of the ideas that her sister had about how to carry Tatsuo around, but if she had been left to think she would've definitely considered sticking the whole fish in her mouth with puffed up cheeks of pond water. But luckily Noriko wasn't about to think of that, she may have been a hermit but she drew the line at putting someone else's fish in her mouth without permission. Would she do it with permission? What wouldn't she do? That was truly only in the mind of someone who was raised by toads and not people. Though she was happy that her sister was seeming to feel better about her existence... considering that she didn't know she existed until a few days ago. "Yeah we can go home! I'd like to eat something that doesn't taste like pond water when we get home." She'd laugh as they walked away from the koi pond, what they didn't know is that they just ruined somebody's swimming pool by making it fit for fish... but hey at least the Koi fish will like the "pond" well.
