Being without a team it wasn't much of a surprise that she got sent on this task on her lonesome. Luckily Konoha had arranged transport for her via cart directly to the village to minimize risks in this dangerous time. That said there was little doubt that the toad sage felt way better outside the bounds of the village than within it, even with the danger the beasts pose. The way the wind rushed past her hair and the noises of nature seemed to coat the air in a beautiful canopy of comfort, everything was perfect out here. As the cart began its way up to the Village Hidden in the Clouds that feeling would only grow, the ninja who had spent most of her life upon a mountain knew this feeling more than any other. Of course this was no pleasure cruise... she would let the natural energy around her settle bit by bit as they made it past the gates. The noises of people only muffled by the clouds around them, it was certainly as noisy as Konoha... maybe just a little less. She would keep meditating as the cart rolled to a stop, she was to wait to be picked up by a representative from Kumoga so she had little reason to let up her meditation, her eyes rested peacefully closed and her body in a full stop on the back of the cart as she awaited Kumo's representative.

Dressed in the full outfit of a Kumogakure Shinobi, Ayane had been waiting for the arrival of the emissary of the Hidden Leaf village with due patience. However, as her mind wandered, she would find herself lazily drifting off as her thoughts began to focus on the different kinds of fighting styles she had heard was employed by the Hidden Leaf Village. Having been told the name of the individual, who much like herself, wasn't a part of any Major Clan within their Village, she wondered if she would find a kindred spirit in terms of love of combat and sword fighting.
Sitting along a flat-topped rock, the small white cardboard sign that she had written the woman's name onto was left facing upwards beside her as a cart rolled up next to the Cloud Chuunin. "I wonder if she carries different sized Katana... Maybe they chose me to meet her because of my extensive knowledge of Samurai and Famous Weaponry..." she mumbled to herself, a lazy smile touching the corners of her lips. With a sudden sense of realisation, the pink-haired Shinobi snapped to attention, hurriedly looking forwards before she reached for her sign and raised it far above her head.
"Sato-san!" she called, eyes wide with worry before she found herself staring straight towards the young lady that had been waiting for her patiently.
Noriko's eyes would open as she heard her name called into the air, or in this case her surname. Unlike her greeter the emissary would be wearing something completely different than the outfit handed out to her genin, wearing the equivalent of a kimono and a giant dumb hat. Indeed she hadn't gotten used to the outfit of her village and took every opportunity to not wear it, however she would keep her headband hanging loosely around her neck to make it easier to identify exactly what village she was from. She'd quickly hop out of her meditation position onto the ground in front of the cart, making her way over to Ayane. The frog's eyes had a serene quality to them as she gave a curt smile and wave to her, "Heya'! You're the one who's supposed to meet-up with me right? Or are you lookin' for another Sato-san I don't know if there are many other Sato's, my sister is the only Sato I know." The toad would immediate start that rambling quality that seemed to fill her dialogue, her finger scratching at her ear as she looked around the village.
Her eyes would wander around the village on the prowl for something, it was clear that whatever she was sent for wasn't her top-priority instead she found it more prudent to examine what kind of delicious man-made treats the village produced, after all it wasn't but a week or two ago that she hadn't eaten anything other than what came out of the ground near the oil fountain and occasionally the big feasts thrown by the toads. She was excited to partake in what she missed most from society, that wasn't to say she forgot the whole purpose of this mission but what was the point if you wasted the whole trip talking about devastation and ruin. She'd offer a hand to Ayane, "You can just call me Noriko! What kinda foods you have around here?" She'd keep her grin strong as she offered the handshake, a near dolt level of happiness to the toad sage as she kept glancing around Kumoga like an amusement park.

Rubbing the back of her head, the Chuunin gave an odd look to the kimono-wearing Genin that had been sent from the neighbouring village. From what she could tell, she fit the majority of the characteristics that were attributed to her. However, her style of dress was something that threw the Samurai off guard. Was she sure she had been sent on a political mission, or was she acting as a bodyguard for some Leaf Village noble. "If you're the only Sato, then it must be you I'm here for, Sato-san," she nodded, hesitating with the honorifics in case she was meant to refer to her under a more courteous title. Clearing her throat, she performed a bow towards the other Ninja. "Ayane of the Kenshin Clan, Chuunin of Kumogakure," she introduced, lifting her head a little higher as she did so.
Raising an eyebrow, she took the hand and shook it. Her serious expression melted suddenly, giving way to a wide grin. "Katahahaha, you Leaf-folk are some weird ones, ain't 'cha!" she giggled, holding a turned fist up towards her mouth as she did so. "Alrighty Noriko, just call me Ayane. Kenshin Clan folks aren't much when it comes to being sticklers for formalities. Unless it comes down to a duel," she chuckled, cocking a thumb to a place some ways away. "C'mon Noriko-san," she smiled. "I know somewhere that'll fill you up on cake and Kumogakure-specialty sweets!"
Ayane it was! With a simple nod she would reply in kind, "It's nice to meet ya' too!" She would look around at least it was clear that what was most important to the frog came across, after all what was a meet-up without snacks? And of those snacks of the sweetest variety! She herself didn't know if her family was that sticky... stickler? Sticklier about the formalities, after all she hadn't seen her family in several upon several years! Luckily she had no intention of dueling Ayane!... or at least she thought so! So they would have little need for formalities and could truly indulge themselves on a meal fit for the pair of them. Luckily it seemed the two of them would have little trouble making this a cordial meeting!
That said after their snacking was done there would be more important matters that needed discussing, and Noriko was sure to write them all down. Taking and putting aside her giant hat she'd reveal a scroll from underneath it, laying it across the table that had previously held a feast for the two ninjas, "As much as I'd love to stay awhile longer and indulge myself on this delicious food I think the Leaf would be cross if I failed to complete my duty!" She'd give a cheeky chuckle as she laid her finger across the page slowly reading down it to refresh herself, "Ah yes! I was here to discuss the going abouts of the Leaf village as it seems that our two nations have come under similar fire." Her voice would stay crystal as she spoke in that serene tone even about the most dark of circumstances, "I come bearing news that the Hokage has met their fate at the hands of a beast, though I am glad to say that the beast has been dealt with in an efficient manner so it won't prove trouble to either of our nations as of now... that said the village itself has been left in disrepair and will need some time to come back to full strength!... or so I'm told!" It was clear that despite the situation, Noriko seemingly knew little on the recent event that had transpired in Konoha and was even less affected by its results seemingly calm despite their leader's death.
