🎋 PROGRESSION GUIDEBOOK 🎋
Furthering one's character is an enjoyable experience for many people. On Shinobi-Rising we offer many ways to achieve this activity in the form of stats, levels, ranks, and titles.
Stats
On Shinobi-Rising there are several stats: Health, Chakra, Stamina, Defense, Resistance, Strength, Jutsu Damage, Mental, and Speed. These each naturally increase when you rank up in them based on points placed into them and though it isn't a necessity they can be enhanced in various creative ways via abilities. As such there are a variety of fun builds to try out and enjoy! Some builds won't even need to rely on the stats themselves. Below you’ll find the detailed explanation on stats. No stat can be zero, character's begin with 20 points and gain 5 per level including lvl 1. Firstly, the number of points in a stat give you the rank you have in that stat. These ranks make it easy to compare one character's stats to another without getting into any nitty gritty math making non event threads easier so long as all player's involved agree to keep numbers out of it, as you need only keep things reasonable to the difference in ranks of the stats, like how an E rank strength character wouldn't be knocking someone far as someone with B strength would, instead of determining precise numbers. However, each rank does actually provide rather numerical stats in some capacity or a benefit, these is detailed in the description for that stat.
Points | Rank |
1-5 | E |
6-14 | D |
15-26 | C |
27-34 | B |
35-39 | A |
40 | S |
Health: Used to gauge how much damage a character can take before they can't fight anymore. Every character begins with a health pool of 200 and gains 60 per point placed into health.
Stamina: How long one can go physically used to active or upkeep techniques that utilize strength or mental. Also utilized to dodge costing X per dodge. Every character begins with 100 gaining 30 per point put into Stamina.
Chakra: The energy used to activate or upkeep techniques that utilize mental or jutsu dmg. Every character begins with 100 and gains 30 per point put into chakra.
Speed: Measure's how quickly a ninja can move without the aid of techniques. Typically one can not dodge techniques above their rank in speed without using a technique to assist them in doing so. This stat also gives character's the number of combat influencing actions can they take per post in a thread from preforming jutsu, using an ability, dodging, etc.
Rank | E | D | C | B | A | S |
Combat Actions | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 |
Resistance: How well someone can endure jutsu dmg or mental based attacks. Enables the character to brush off a number of attacks of their rank or below based on the rank while taking no damage. These benefits are additive so for example someone with C rank in this rank can brush off 4 E rank attacks, 4 D rank attacks, and 3 C rank attacks. Refreshes per thread, can not pick and chose what attacks this negates short of dodging to save it for later.
Rank | E | D | C | B | A | S |
Brush Off's | 4 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 |
Defense: How sturdy someone is against strength based attacks.
Strength: Damage for techniques like taijutsu and bukijutsu, this is how hard someone hits with their body.
Rank | E | D | C | B | A | S |
Damage | 20 | 40 | 60 | 80 | 100 | 120 |
Mental: This stat provides the damage for techniques such as Genjutsu.
Rank | E | D | C | B | A | S |
Damage | 20 | 40 | 60 | 80 | 100 | 120 |
Jutsu Dmg: Provides the damage for any technique not related to the other two damage stats.
Rank | E | D | C | B | A | S |
Damage | 20 | 40 | 60 | 80 | 100 | 120 |
Ranks, Levels, and Titles
On Shinobi-Rising we take a slightly unique stance towards progression, unlinking one's rank, level and title so that you can progress along any you wish with relatively little to no progression on the other's if so desired. Of course, it's also possible to progress them at the same time so you don't have to chose between them. Each one of the three tracks, Rank, Level, and Title offer different benefits for progressing along them.Levels - There are a total of 50 levels that you can progress through this happens by earning experience from completing missions or partaking in site activities offering exp and sometimes even levels themselves as reward. Every level you gain five stat points, in addition to this you start with 4 custom jutsu slots and gain two with every fifth level. For more info on custom jutsu see this link.

-level's 1 to 10 are 100 exp each, 11 to 20 are 200 each, 21 to 30 are 400 each, 31 to 40 are 800, and 41 to 50 are 1,200 exp each for a grand total of 27,000 needed to reach level 50.
Rank - There are 6 ranks that can be gone through E, D, C, B, A, and S. You can improve your rank by completing a set number of missions of a specified rank then turning them in to staff in order to progress to the next or as a reward in an event. Increasing in Rank allows you to learn jutsu of that rank without an IC mentor, in addition to this you gain elemental affinities based on rank, jutsu specializations, custom abilities, and a customizable ability based on hand signs explained further below.
Elemental affinity per rank: At E rank you have a single elemental affinity, at B this increases to 2 affinities, 3 at A and 4 at S, elemental affinity rules are further explained in both character creation and jutsu/ability rules.
Specializations - At E rank you can master a single Technique type, at C rank a second, at A rank a third, and S rank grants a forth. Some Clan's may force your E rank specialization.
Hand sign ability - In the series it is often shown people can become skilled enough to use only one hand, use less hand signs, use a weapon or other body parts in place of hands, use no hand signs, etc. A character’s hand sign ability is something they gain at C rank which covers a single one of these idea’s or something equal to them for the character’s current rank of jutsu. As you increase in rank you can upgrade it to include a second of these idea’s at A and a third at S. This is also subject to all the rules techniques are.
Custom Abilities - At E rank you obtain Chakra Molding, and every rank following you receive a single custom ability with C ranks being Hand Signs though you may forsake it to make something else.
Titles - Lastly we have things like Academy Student, Genin, Chunin, Jonin, Anbu, Kage, Jinchuuriki, etc that are all titles based strictly on IC prerequisites and story. These can only be progressed through during events, though this doesn’t mean you have to wait for say the chunin exams to become one it just means you have to wait for an event and submit your actions in that event to your villages Kage or staff if the Kage is absent to be considered for the new title. Sadly yes this does mean occasionally if the Kage has IC motive your character may be denied a title based on story. The expectations are things like Jinchuuriki in circumstances where the Kage is not present/involved in the tailed beast’s sealing in which case the Kage is not consulted following the submission of interest in obtaining the title to staff during the allotted timeline. Missing Nin while they can’t obtain hierarchy titles like chunin/jonin etc can obtain other titles which they request from staff in the designated thread. The benefits of each Title, the prerequisites for it, if it can be held alongside other titles or not, and any such details are further explained in the title guide
Jutsu Word Counts
To learn jutsus a word count is required to train them as shown in the chart below. For more on jutsu see the creation guidebook.
